Police Seize Nine Vehicles in Illegal Mining Crackdown in Central Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: Police in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district seized nine vehicles, including seven tippers and two tractors, for their alleged involvement in the illegal extraction and transportation of minor minerals, police said said on Monday.

The vehicles were intercepted within the jurisdiction of Police Station Ganderbal while transporting minerals extracted from Nallah Sindh without the required permissions. The action was taken in coordination with the Geology and Mining Department.

Police said cases have been initiated under relevant legal provisions, and further investigation is underway.

Authorities reiterated that action against illegal mining activities would continue across the district, warning that strict legal measures would be taken against those involved in the unlawful extraction or transportation of minerals.
