Under the directions of Kashmir police cheif Syed Javaid Mujtaba Gillani,  Police Control Room Srinagar of J&K Police on Thursday organised Iftaar and dinner for orphans living in Raahat Manzil Bemina.

Imtiyaz Hussian, Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Police Control Room Kashmir, along with Dy SP Owaise Rashid (DySP PCR) and other officers of police had Iftaar and dinner with the children and staff members of Raahat Manzil including Jenab Mohammad Iqbal Vice-Secretary of the orphanage, a police statement informed Friday afternoon.

There are some 500 children of different age groups presently living in Raahat Manzil. Education, boarding and lodging is provided to the children by the management of the orphanage.

“We arranged this get together to give a sense of belonging to these children and make them feel that they are part and parcel of the society,” SSP Imtiyaz said.

He said PCR Kashmir have been setting up Iftaar points in different parts of the city since the beginning of the Ramzan where common people are served Iftaari. “Earlier, Iftaari was arranged for the patients and attendants of SMHS, Lal Ded, SKIMS Soura and other city hospitals. But Iftaar and dinner with childrens at Rahat Manzil was special one”, SSP asserted.

Raahat Manzil officials said that JKP cops were stationed in the boarding Mess since Thursday morning preparing meals for the children.

IGP Kashmir said that he was very particular that orphans should feel being loved and not left over. “Both society and orphans need to have sense of belongingness with one another.”
