Police solved a hit and run case in hours after an unknown Truck hit two pedestrians at Sangam, Bijbehara. One of the pedestrians died on spot while another died while on way to hospital, police said on Sunday.
“An unknown Truck hit two pedestrians at Sangam Bijbehara, resulting in on spot death of one Bashir Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Ahmad Mir resident of Niloora, Pulwama and injuries to Ghulam Hassan Shah son of Abdul Rashid resident of Niloora, Pulwama. The injured succumbed to his injuries while on way to hospital. After completion of medico legal formalities, the bodies of the deceased were handed over to their legal heirs for last rites,” the police statement said this evening.
Police swung into action and arrested the truck driver who was identified as Lateef Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Rasool resident of Lassipora, Pulwama, seized the truck bearing registration number JK13C-0272 and has registered a case FIR No. 211/15 under section 304 A RPC against him, the statement said.
