Police on Tuesday claimed that it solved the murder case of a lady Helper whose body was recovered by police in an orchard near Hib Dangarpora in North Kashmir’s Sopore Apple Town.

Last week, police recovered the body of a 22 years old lady Helper Nayeema Mohiud-Din alias Soni daughter of Ghulam Mohiud-Din Ganie resident of Behrampora Sopore and according it registered a case vide FIR number 81/2013 under section 302 of RPC in police station Dangiwacha.

Police said an investigating team lead by Deputy Superintendent of Police Reyaz Ahmed Tantray was constituted which arrested two persons involved in the murder of the lady teacher.

A police official told CNS that during the course of investigation it surfaced that the victim was having relationship with one Muhammad Shafi Dar son of Hafizullah Dar resident of Chankhan, Sopore.

“They had developed this relationship at their workplace, a private school in Sopore where the deceased was working as Helper and Shafi was working as a driver. Call Detail Records of both of them revealed that they used to talk on phone for hours together during night,” police said adding that Shafi had left the job at school some months ago.

Police said that the accused Muhammad Shafi had felt that the girl was no more interested in him and was suspecting her having an affair with some other person and as such had developed ill will and resentment against her.

“Last Friday, Shafi along with his friend Mehrajudin Dar son of Nawab Dar resident of Saidpora picked her up from Sopore town in a  Maruti Van (JK 05C/4159)  and forcibly took her to an orchard near village Seelu. Shafi assaulted her in the van and the duo forcibly overpowered her and strangulated her to death despite the fact the girl yelled for help,” the police official said.

Police said that Shafi while confessing his crime said that he had been engaged to her but suspected her of having affair with some other person and as such with the assistance of his friend Mehrajudin planned to kill her.

Both the accused have been arrested and remanded to Police custody.
