As per a police spokesperson on Friday afternoon maternal uncle of a girl informed that her niece (name withheld) reading in 8th standard of a school in Dooru, Islamabad had gone missing. On the receipt of the information, Islamabad police informed all the nakas including those at Qazigund and Jawahar Tunnel. After strenuous efforts police could find the girl along with other two girl students at Larh, Jurisdiction of Police Station Pahalgam.

“During the enquiry into the matter, it came to fore that all the three girls’ students had left their respective homes early morning yesterday. While two were wearing uniform, one was wearing normal clothes. The girls boarded a bus and reached Islamabad. From Islamabad they reached Kanilwan. At Kanilwan they sold a mobile for Rs. 500/- and left for Pahalgam in sumo. They stayed with a family at Larh in Pahalgam for the night enjoying the hospitality of the hosts. Today morning they returned to Bijbhehara and sold gold ornaments for Rs. 13000, and reached Larh again”, reads a statement.

In the meantime, police was able to gather the information regarding their location. Police brought these girls students to Islamabad. All the girls have been handed over to their parents.
