SRINAGAR: A policeman died after sustaining injuries while cleaning his weapon in the Zewan area of Central Kashmir’s Srinagar district on Saturday.
A top police official said that a head constable named Bashir Ahmad, from the Central Armour Workshop and currently posted in Zewan, received firearm injuries while cleaning his weapon.
He said that the injured officer was shifted to 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance of the incident and started an investigation. (KS)
