“While dispensing their noble duties policemen should not forget to attend to the welfare of their families and children, whatever time they get they should ensure to look after their children well and ensure their children don’t get into bad company or crimes”,  this was stated by Inspector General of Police, Kashmir A G Mir while addressing the police personnel at a Darbar in Pulwama.

IGP Kashmir, held a police Darbar during his visit to District Police Lines, Pulwama. On his arrival the IGP inaugurated a state of art Gymnasium that is equipped with latest equipments, a dining hall and cricket net practice facility for the cops and the youth of District Pulwama.

IGP held a Darbar for the police personnel where in the police personal put forward their problems. The IGP gave a patient hearing to them and assured them that their problems will be redressed at the earliest.

According to a statement issued by the police, IGP said that the police personnel should stand firm in their commitment to maintain peace and to curb the crime in our society. He said that curbing drug addiction and immoral activities that are posing a challenge to our society, needs to be fought collectively by all segments of our society including parents, teachers, religious preachers but police has to take the lead against these issues.

IGP citing the recent Kakapora rape case said, ”we should be very tough with these social crimes and the offenders should be booked and brought to justice.” He said that while dealing with these issues police should get deep down into the genesis of these crimes so that measures can be taken to check these crimes in future.

Applauding police for their dedication and professionalism in maintaining peace and curbing the crime, IGP enjoined upon them that while dispensing their noble duties they should not forget to attend to the welfare of their families and children who are also a part of the society. He added that policeman gets meager time for their families but whatever time they get they should ensure to look after their children well and ensure their children don’t get into bad company or crimes and drugs.

IGP further said that police has launched various programmes under civic action programme in fields like sports, music and art and academics to channelize the talents of our youth in positive direction and provide them a platform to garner a better future for themselves.
