Rebutting the disinformation campaign launched by an author Prem Shankar Jha, Inhabitants of Tosamaidan area Tuesday protested against the official apathy demanding the lease order be cancelled and army retreated from the area.
Save Tosamaidan forum in collaboration with Panchayat Forum Budgam today protested at the press colony seeking an end to their agonies precipitated by the stray pieces of ordinances that are littered in the meadow. Countering the claims made by an author Prem Shankar Jha that there are no stray shells in the area, protesters displayed a photograph showing a stray shell which they claimed was clicked in morning hours today at Charihara nearby Tosamaidan.
Rejecting the allegations of Jha, Manzoor Ahmad, Sarpanch Drang said “Prem Shankar Jha did not meet me. He is lying. I don’t know him. How can he quote me”? “We want that army should vacate the area as soon as possible” he added.
Interestingly Jha had alleged in an write-up published in a local daily that the Panchyat representatives of the area want the army to stay on besides saying that there are no stray shells in the area.
