The National Conference on Saturday hailed ‘Panches’, ‘Sarpanches’ and party cadres for ensuring thumping victory for all the four coalition candidates in the elections to Legislative Council seats reserved for Panchayats.
In a one-day convention held at town hall Pampore to celebrate the victory of four coalition candidates a meeting was held. Speaking on the occasion, additional general secretary Dr. Mustafa Kamal said that the workers of both Congress and National Conference deserve applaud for giving clear cut message to their detractors that the coalition is as strong at the grass roots as it is at the top level, “NC is a vibrant force in all three regions and these elections have proved it.” said Kamal.
He expressed his gratitude to the sarpanches and panchs for their large participation and strengthening the democratic institutions in the state”.
Kamal stated that from land to tiller act by Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah in 1950 to Public Service Guarantee Act by Omar Abdullah, the policies of National Conference remained people friendly and progressive. “Vision of a prosperous, self-reliant farmer was seen and realized by National Conference’s founder, the late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah. The most beneficiaries from the Land Reforms Act were lakhs of poor tillers from Jammu & Kashmir” said Kamal
“The present coalition government headed by Omar Abdullah has ensured that the menace of corruption is curbed by enforcing several laws like, RTI, PSGA, SAC and State Vigilance Commission,” Kamal added.
