Important political figures from National Conference (NC) and Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) are likely to join Congress here on January 12, sources told KNS
The reliable sources informed further that around eight to ten people from both NC and PDP are expected to join Congress in a function at a local hotel here. Besides the political figures some former state civil servants will also join the chorus.
The sources close to state Congress maintained, “Important political figures are tomorrow joining Congress from both NC and PDP and that the names of the persons are a guarded secret, we cannot reveal that.”
The statement issued to state congress informed that the stat Congress Chief Prof. Saifuddin Soz will preside over the Function being held at the local hotel here wherein some ‘Prominent Political Personalities’ will also join the party.
As the rift over the pre-poll alliance between ruling NC and Congress seems widening, the induction of some faces from NC would further amplify the relation.
It is pertinent to mention that the state Congress earlier declared the list of prominent political faces joining the party including former political adviser of NC patron Dr Farooq Abdullah. NC later accused congress of being habitual of ‘horse trading’ in the state.
