As per a General Administration Department (GAD) order, Public holidays ordered by the Government on Poll day in respective Parliamentary Constituencies shall also be observed under Negotiable Instruments Act
Meanwhile, Polling for the first phase of Lok Sabha elections started for the Baramulla seat on Thursday morning. The polling started at 7:00 in the morning and will culminate at 6 PM later today.
Reports said that unprecedented security arrangements have been put in place by the authorities and the election commission, to ensure peaceful polls.
