SRINAGAR
In connection with Post office Fest-2013, Department of Posts, J&K Circle today organized Stamp Design Competition and Debate for the School Students in Srinagar GPO. The topic of the Stamp Design was “Clean Srinagar, Green Srinagar” in which more than 350 students from different schools of Srinagar and Islamabad participated.
Currently Philately Exhibition is also going on in Srinagar GPO in which more than 20,000 stamps on India and other parts of the world are on display. Main attraction of the exhibition is on stamps and postal stationary of J&K.
John Samuel, the chief post master general informed that walk for Srinagar is being organized on Sunday May 26, 2013 at 7 am from Police Golf Course, Boulevard Road to Srinagar GPO, involving younger generation, old and other sections of the society. This is a major event for the people of Srinagar organized by Department of Posts in association with Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
