SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns across several areas of Kashmir later this month and on October 1 to facilitate maintenance and related works.
According to KPDCL, power supply to Sangam, Shanglipora, Takenwari and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on September 19 and 23 due to a shutdown of the 33 kV Wanganpora-Takanwari line.
Similarly, areas including Upper Soura, 90 Feet Road, Zoonimar, Anchar and Bahlachpora will face a power shutdown from 8 am to 2 pm on September 26 and 30 due to work on the 33 kV Wanganpora-Soura SKIMS line.
Power supply to Hajin, Preng, Madwan, Banyari, Hakbara, Chandergeer and adjoining areas will be affected from 8 am to 3 pm on September 17 due to a shutdown of the 33 kV Army feeder.
KPDCL said another shutdown involving the 33 kV Lar-Tulmulla, 33 kV Safapora and 33 kV Army feeders has been scheduled for September 19 from 8 am to 3 pm. The affected areas include Lar, Waliwar, Watlar, Repora, Tulmulla, Dangerpora, Theeru, Larsun, Safapora, Gratabal, Chewa, Jarokabagh, Manasbal, Nowgam, Inderkoot, Wangipora, Nesbal, Naninara, Sumbal Bazar, Hajin, Preng, Madwan, Banyari, Hakbara and Chandergeer.
A further shutdown involving the 132 kV Power Transformer-II and the 33 kV Army, Safapora, Lar-Tulmulla and Kurhama feeders has been scheduled on September 21, 23 and 25 from 8 am to 3 pm.
During these shutdowns, power supply will be affected in areas including Kurhama, Youngoora, Barsoo, Old Dab, Checki Baba Salun, Sainik School, Rabitar, Kondbal, GCET Safapora, Lar, Waliwar, Watlar, Repora, Tulmulla, Dangerpora, Theeru, Larsun, Safapora, Gratabal, Chewa, Jarokabagh, Manasbal, Nowgam, Inderkoot, Wangipora, Nesbal, Naninara, Sumbal Bazar, Hajin, Preng, Madwan, Banyari, Hakbara and Chandergeer.
KPDCL has also announced shutdowns of the 132 kV Habbak-Badampora and 132 kV Kangan-Badampora feeders on September 29 and October 1 from 8 am to 3 pm.
The shutdown will affect a wider belt covering areas including Kurhama, Yangpora, Baroosa, Old Dab, Checki Baba Salun, Sainik School, Rabitar, Kondbal, GCET Safapora, Lar, Waliwar, Watlar, Repora, Tulmulla, Dangerpora, Theeru, Larsun, Safapora, Central University, Gratbal, Jarokabagh, Hajin, Preng, Madwan, Banyari, Hakbara, Chandergeer, Aloosa, Malangam, Quil, Nishat, Papchan, Ajas, SK Bala, Sadunara, Bazipora, Nadihal, Guroora, Argam, Wanpora, Dawar, NHPC, Tragbal, Peerbaba and Razdan Top.
KPDCL advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in view of the scheduled shutdowns.
