SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced scheduled power shutdowns in several parts of Kashmir this month to facilitate maintenance and other works on 33 kV transmission lines.
According to KPDCL, power supply to Tral and adjoining areas will remain affected from 9 am to 2 pm on August 12 due to a shutdown of the 33 kV Awantipora-Tral-I, excluding the Dadsara Tapline, and Awantipora-Tral-II lines. The affected areas include Tral-i-Payeen, Tral-i-Bala, Chewa, Lurgam, Gulabagh and Aripal.
On August 13, power supply to Brein, Nishat and adjoining areas will be affected from 8 am to 2 pm due to a shutdown of the 33 kV Cheshmashahi-Brein Nishat line. The affected areas include Tulip Garden, Pahloo, Taj Vivanta, Exchange Colony, Handampora, Pathanbagh and the Filtration Plant.
The same day, power supply to Salamabad, Uri and adjoining areas will remain affected from 11:30 am to 3 pm due to a shutdown of the 33 kV LJHP Uri line. NHPC, MES Uri, TFC Uri, Gharkote, Bandi, Mohura, Rampur and Bijhama will also be affected.
A shutdown of the 33 kV Wanganpora-Takanwari line on August 13 will affect power supply to Sangam, Shanglipora and adjoining areas from 8 am to 2 pm.
On August 16, power supply to Pulwama and several adjoining areas will be affected from 8 am to 2 pm due to scheduled shutdowns of multiple 33 kV lines, including Lassipora-Pulwama, Lassipora-Pulwama (B), Lassipora-SIDCO, Lassipora-Landoora, Lassipora-Mitrigam Keegam and Lassipora-Lassipora.
The affected areas include Pulwama, Babhar, Pinglena, Tenghar, Koil, Gangoo, IGC Lassipora, Landoora, Chakoora, Mantribugh, Hermain, Hajipora, Keegam, Murran, Rahmoo, Pakherpora, Mitrigam, Gulshanabad, Akhal, Chararipora, Kamrazipora, Arihal, Ahgam, Achan, Lassipora and Odoora.
The shutdown of the same lines is also scheduled for August 19, during the same hours.
In Shopian, power supply to Shopian town, Gagren, Batapora, the DC Office and adjoining areas will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm on August 16 due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Kanipora-Batpora line.
Meanwhile, areas including KP Bagh, Soiteng PHE, Mehjoornagar, Jawaharnagar, Kursoo Rajbagh, Zero Bridge, Gogjibagh and Lalmandi will face a power shutdown from 8 am to 2 pm on August 17, 22 and 27 due to scheduled maintenance of the 33 kV KP Bagh line.
On August 18, power supply to Upper Soura, 90 Feet, Nowshera, Bohlachpora and adjoining areas will be affected from 8 am to 2 pm due to the shutdown of the 33 kV Soura-SKIMS line.
KPDCL has advised consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in view of the scheduled power interruptions.
