Two Pony Operators Booked for Operating Without Valid Cards

   

SRINAGAR: Reasi Police have registered cases against two pony/palki operators for allegedly operating without valid pony cards in the Banganga area, officials said on Tuesday.

The action was taken by a police team from Police Post Banganga during routine patrolling and checking in the area. The team established a surprise naka to verify the documents of pony and palki operators.

During the checking, two operators were found allegedly operating without valid pony cards. They were identified as Raj Singh, son of Veer Singh, a resident of Kakra Thakarakote, Reasi, and Abhishek Singh, son of Shankar Singh, a resident of Thakarakote, Reasi.

Police said the violation attracts action under Section 223(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

In connection with the violations, FIRs bearing numbers 270/2026 and 271/2026 have been registered at Police Station Katra under relevant provisions of law.

Police said further action would be taken against anyone found violating the prescribed rules governing pony and palki operations, particularly in areas witnessing heavy pilgrim movement.

The move is aimed at ensuring the safety and convenience of pilgrims and visitors visiting the area.
