Power Supply To Remain Affected In Several Kashmir Areas

   

SRINAGAR: Several areas in Kashmir will face scheduled power shutdowns on different dates this month due to maintenance work on transmission lines and feeders, the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) said on Sunday.

According to KPDCL, power supply to Handwara Town, Marathgam, Kulangam, Kandi, Chogal, Sagipora and adjoining areas will remain affected from **8 am to 2 pm on August 10 and 13** due to a shutdown of the 33 kV Arampora-Handwara Old line.

Similarly, areas including Boatman Colony, Bemina, JVC Hospital, Children Hospital, State Motor Garage, Hajj House, Forensic Science Laboratory, PC Depot, Qamarwari and Barthana will face power disruption from **8 am to 2 pm on August 11** due to the shutdown of the 33 kV JVC/PC Depot line.

The same line will also be shut down from **8 am to 2 pm on August 22 and 25**, affecting the above areas as well as SRTC, the under-construction High Court complex and the Directorate of Health Services.

In central Kashmir, the shutdown of the **33 kV Shariefabad-Wadwan line** on **August 26 and 30**, from 8 am to 2 pm, will affect Shariefabad, Durbal, Hanjik, Soibugh, Haran, Bonpora, Astanpora, Wadwan, Hanjikpora, Dharmuna, Russu, Gotpora, Pymus and adjoining areas.

A shutdown of the 11 kV Durbal feeder on August 27, from 8 am to 2 pm, will affect power supply to Durbal, Hanjik, Shariefabad and adjoining areas.

KPDCL said the shutdowns have been scheduled to facilitate maintenance and related works on the power infrastructure.
