Power Supply to Several Kashmir Areas to Remain Affected

   

SRINAGAR: Power supply to several areas of Srinagar, Pulwama and Budgam districts will remain affected on August 24 and 27 due to scheduled shutdowns and ongoing works on 33 kV transmission lines, the Chief Engineer, Distribution, Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) said.

On August 24, the shutdown of the 33 kV Cheshmashahi-Brein Nishat line will be observed from 9 am to 11 am, affecting power supply to Brein, Tulip Garden, Brein Pahloo, Taj Vivanta, Exchange Colony, Nishat, Handampora, Pathanbagh, Filtration Plant and adjoining areas.

On the same day, the 33 kV Chewa Tap Line of Tral-I, Chewa and Tral Bala will remain shut from 9 am to 2 pm. The affected areas will include Chewa, Tral Bala, Bajwani, Kahlil, Bathnoor, Hayina and adjoining areas.

Power supply from the 33 kV Pampore-Badamibagh line to receiving stations at Badamibagh, Sonwar and Panthachowk will also remain affected on August 24 from 8 am to 11 am to facilitate pole erection for a new 33 kV tap line to the Government Press.

The shutdown will affect Sonwar, Shivpora, Panthachowk, Batwara, WSS Tangnar, Summerbugh, Government Press, GB Panth Hospital and adjoining areas.

Meanwhile, on August 27, power supply from the 33 kV Nowbugh-Chadoora line to receiving stations at Chadoora, Panzan, Ranger and Wathoora will remain affected from 8 am to 2 pm for pole erection under the SASCI Scheme and completion of inspection-related works on the newly constructed 33 kV Nowbugh-Khanda line.

The affected areas will include Sogam, Repora, Chadoora, Wathoora, Bugam, Dawlatpora, Gudsuthoo, Panzan, Lalgam, Ranger, Kathairgund, Yarikalan and adjoining areas.

Also on August 27, the 33 kV Nowbugh-Nagam line will remain shut from 8 am to 2 pm, affecting receiving stations at Nagam, Hafroo, Char-1 and Char-2.

The affected areas will include Kakawring, Yousmarg, Charar-i-Sharief, Rakhaye, Tilsera, Badipora, Nagam, Hayatpora, Hafroo, Buzgoo, Gogjipathri, Laden, Loolipora, Nagbal, Brinjin, Watkaloo and adjoining areas.

KPDCL has scheduled the shutdowns to facilitate maintenance, pole erection and related works on the 33 kV network.
