SRINAGAR: Union Minister Pralhad Joshi has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of the Ministry of Education after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from the post amid protests in Delhi over examination paper leaks.

The President’s Office confirmed the change in a communique issued after Pradhan’s resignation was accepted.
Joshi, who is currently the Union Minister for Food and Consumer Affairs, will now also oversee the Education Ministry.
Pradhan, 57, submitted his resignation on the 35th day of protests at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. In his resignation letter, he said he had chosen to step down to prevent anti-national forces from taking advantage of the situation.
