Pre-Dawn Blaze Damages Three Commercial Complexes in South Kashmiir

   

SRINAGAR: A pre-dawn fire broke out in three commercial complexes near Tak Masjid in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday, gutting their top floors and roofs.

The fire erupted in the early hours, prompting a swift response from the local fire department.

According to official reports, the distress call was received at 03:50 hours. “The Fire & Emergency Services (F&ES) Shopian unit—under the command of Pulwama—was mobilised at 03:51 hours and reached the site by 03:58 hours. Firefighters immediately began dousing operations, bringing the flames under control in the upper floors of the affected buildings.”

Residents were awakened by the commotion and have been reassured by the administration that there is no further threat. Authorities continue to monitor the site while investigating the cause of the fire and implementing precautionary measures to prevent further damage.

As the probe continues, local authorities have emphasised the importance of vigilance and community preparedness in handling such incidents. They have also commended the swift response that helped contain the fire efficiently. (KB)
