Under Prime Minister’s reconstruction program an economic package of Rs 24000 crores was sanctioned to the state of Jammu and Kashmir in November 2004. The plan was later revised to Rs 33177.85 crore and the construction process started under three sections. The cumulative expenditure till August 2012 is recorded so far is Rs 4694.20 crore.

The information was revealed in a question asked by a lawmaker, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain in the J&K legislative assemble today.

It was revealed that the funds were allocated for various developmental work in the state which included Power projects, roads, salaries, degree colleges, ITI’s, model villages, development of Ladakh and Kargil areas, roads under PMGSY, Dal and Nigeen dwellers, power Sector and for the migrants.
