SRINAGAR

The Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) on Friday granted permission for remedial classes to be conducted by the recognized private educational institutions of Kashmir division.

DSEK spokesman said, “recognized private educational institutions of Kashmir division can conduct remedial teaching classes during winter vacations, subject to certain conditions.”

He said the remedial/supplementary teaching has to be carried out by these institutions on the voluntary basis with the consent of the students and their parents. “No extra fee has to be charged from the students for the remedial classes in any case,” he said and added that no such classes can be started by any private educational institution before 18 December 2017.

The spokesman said these institutions shall have to make fitting heating arrangements in the classes for which they will be allowed to charge Rs 300 per student up to 8th class and Rs 400 per student for class 9th to 12th for the full winter session. He said the remedial classes shall have to be conducted between 10.30 am and 3.30 pm.
