SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir has achieved a significant milestone by enhancing its private Haj quota to 750 seats for the year 2025. According to a government order dated November 29 2024, a total of 14 Haj Group Organisers (HGOs) have been found eligible for the allocation, with one company qualifying under Category I, nine under Category II, and four listed as new applicants.

Labaika Haj and Umrah Services has emerged as the sole company in Category I, receiving a quota of 100 seats. The remaining 13 companies, including newcomers such as Alharamain Haj and Umrah Services, Javid Iqbal, and Madina World Travels Pvt Ltd, have been allocated 50 seats each.
The detailed list of eligible HGOs underscores a diverse participation, with well-known operators such as Al Hayat Hajj and Omrah, Universe Travel Corporation, and Alhuda Travels among those approved under Category II. This development is expected to provide more options for pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir while ensuring that the private sector contributes meaningfully to facilitating Haj operations.
The increase in the private Haj quota comes as part of a broader effort to streamline and enhance the pilgrimage experience for residents of Jammu and Kashmir. It also reflects the government’s commitment to supporting private organisers in meeting the growing demand for Haj services. Interestingly, the quota for the Jammu and Kashmir Haj Committee is too huge and there are not many applicants despite the dates being extended many times
