Hurriyat Conference (m) spokesperson on Wednesday said that people after offering Zuhar prayers tried to take a pro-freedom procession to Kulgam following ‘Kulgam Chalo’ called by joint resistance leadership.
He said, people after offering Zuhar (mid-day) prayers assembled in Nowhatta and took a pro-freedom procession, heading towards Kulgam. As soon as the procession reached near Naqshbandh Sahib shrine, a heavy deployment of police and paramilitary forces intercepted the procession and used force.
Pertinently, joint resistance leadership had called for ‘Kulgam Chalo’ march after four militants and two civilians were killed on Sunday and an encounter and subsequent clashed at Kulgam.
