Professor O N Wakhlu, former principal of Regional Engineering College Srinagar (NIT) Passed away on Friday evening at his residence in Srinagar.
According to reports, Wakhlu died at his residence in Srinagar after a prolonged illness. Wakhlu has devoted over fifty-five years to Engineering research, Education and Secondary Education as well as the management of educational institutions. He has been a recipient of a Commonwealth Research Fellowship, enabling him to study in Britain, and be awarded a Ph.D. by the University of Birmingham, UK.
Wakhlu is the husband of senior Congress leader and former minister Khemlata Wakhlu. She also served as vice chairman of state social welfare board.
In this regard, the Institution of Engineers Jammu and Kashmir State Centre is organizing a condolence meeting at Church Lane at Sonwar Srinagar at 2 pm on Saturday.
