Scores of persons were injured during intense clashes with the government forces in Hanjin area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district where four militants were killed in a gunfight.
Reports said that soon after the gunfight broke out scores of the youth took to streets and clashed with the forces.
Forces resorted to tear gas smoke shells to chase away the protestors and resulting in injuries to several protesters.
Sources said that the injured youth were shifted to nearby hospital for treatment and one of them was shifted to Srinagar for specialized treatment.
Earlier four militants were killed in the gunfight that broke out after the forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the area.
Clashes were going on in the area when this report was filed.
