Property of Drug Peddler Attached in North Kashmir: Police

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday as confiscated a mini shopping complex comprising four shops belonging to the notorious drug peddler in Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

An official said that this action against the drug peddler identified as Farooq Ahmad Dar, son of Mohd Sultan Dar, resident of Lachipora Handwara was taken under section 68-F of the NDPS Act 1985.

“Dar is implicated in the NDPS cases including Case FIR No.316/2017 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Handwara, Case FIR No. 86/2020 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Handwara, Case FIR NO.242/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Handwara and Case FIR NO.36/23 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Handwara,” the official said.

He said that the property was identified as illegally acquired during the investigation/enquiry conducted by Handwara Police, linking it to illicit drug trafficking.

“The owner, a notorious drug peddler, is currently under detention at Kote-bilwal Jammu under the PIT-NDPS Act,” the official added.
