Property Worth Lakhs Attached in North Kashmir

   

SRINAGAR: In a crackdown against drug peddlers, the Baramulla police attached properties, including 1 Kanal and 10 Marlas of land and a single-story residential house valued at approximately Rs 20 lakhs, belonging to drug peddler Farooq Ahmad Mir, a resident of Zaspora Tangmarg, District Baramulla.

A police spokesperson in a statement said, “This action was taken under sections 68-E read with 68-F (1) of the NDPS Act of 1985, linked with case FIR No.50/2019 & 55/2023 u/s 8/20, 29 NDPS Act of PS Tangmarg & case FIR No. 142/2022 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act of PS Kunzer.”

The property was identified as illegally acquired during the investigation,enquiry conducted by the police, and it was found to be acquired from illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the drug peddler.

This operation underscores the police’s dedication to combatting the drug menace, receiving praise from the local community in the area.
