Following the killing of one youth at HMT late Saturday evening, protestors have blocked the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad highway at Umarabad, HMT.
Reports and witnesses said that the angry protestors blocked the Highway early Sunday.
“The youth are protesting the killing of Gowhar Nazir,” one of the locals said.
Gowhar Nazir, an engineering student at SSM Engineering College, was killed when a tear gas shell hit his head Saturday evening. There were clashes in Zainakote area between forces and youth.
He was rushed to SKIMS where he succumbed to his injuries.
Kashmir Valley is observing a shutdown on the call of separatists.
