The protests against the hanging of Azfal Guru are on in Kashmir valley where strict curfew is in place since Saturday. Three protesters died till Monday afternoon including a 13 years old boy and a 10th class student. More than 50 persons are also reported injured in the battles between forces and the protesters.

Defying curfew, hundreds of people in Pattan and Palhalan area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district took to streets and staged massive protests against the hanging of Afzal Guru.

Protesters raising pro-freedom and anti India slogans were dispersed by the forces personnel. At both the places forces resorted to baton charge and resorted to teargas shelling.

Reports said that protests also broke out in old Baramulla town and Sopore as well. Police and paramilitary CRPF men used force to disperse the protesters. However, demonstrators offered stiff resistance triggering clashes.
