A youth was killed in firing by forces when protests were going on in Naidkhai area of Bandipora district.
Local sources said that as protests were going on Naidkhai after Friday prayers, a vehicle of paramilitary CRPF was chasing the protestors. Soon the vehicle was surrounded by protesting youth who pelted stones on it.
In retaliation, they said, the men in uniform fired upon them in which a student Farhat Ahmad Dar, 21, s/o Gh Rasool Dar r/o Shahgund was killed and few others were injured.
Meanwhile Kashmir Police chief Abdul Gani Mir confirmed the casualty.
