Public Safety Act (PSA) of eight prisoners was quashed on Tuesday by State High Court with the directions of their immediate release
Reports said that these prisoners were arrested during 2016 uprising and were lodged in different jails.
These prisoners whose PSA was quashed include, Mashooq Ahmad Malla Kupwara, Manzoor Ahmad Baghat Pulwama, Ishfaq Ahmad Parray Hajin Bandipora, Ashiq Hussain Dar Maisuma Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Salia Baramulla, Irshad Ahmad Paul Budgam, Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir Sopore and Ghulam Nabi Gojri of Sopore.
They said that the high court endorsed the arguments put forward by the counsels of the above prisoners,
The argument of their council, Advocate Mian Abdul Qayoom, Advocate BA Tak and Advocate Nasir Qadri was endorsed by High court and directed for their release, reports said.
