Hurriyat (g) Jammu province head and chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir National Front, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Friday termed the slapping of PSA on Fayaz Ahmad Rather of Bugam, Kulgam as “shameful”.

“Offering Nimaz-e-Jinaza for dead is a religious obligation so how come this be treated as a crime,” he said and added, “Shaheed Abu Qasim has laid down his life for a great cause and Kashmiris owe a lot to him.”

Khan said, “India is indulging in inhuman acts and it has now started directly interfering in the religious matters of Kashmiri Muslims which can have very dangerous results.”

“He again advised New Delhi not to indulge in such activities which have every capacity to create violence,” National Front statement said. “India should adopt a resolution policy and give up hooliganism, which can lead to nowhere but destruction.”

Khan said, “Kashmir dispute can only be resolved by a single political measure so New Delhi must shun the path it has adopted since decades together.” “One step on part of India can guarantee long lasting peace and stability in the South Asian region.”

“One step can also bring prosperity to whole India and that one step is to accept the disputed nature of Jammu Kashmir,” he said.

Meanwhile, JKLF (r) Patron Barrister Ab Majid Trumbo in a statement today while terming the slapping of fresh PSA against incarcerated Muslim League chairperson Masarat Alam Bhat as “unlawful” said, “Masarat Alam is not even produced before court.”

Trumbo lashed at authorities for slapping PSA against Ab Ahad Para, Umer Mushtaq and Molvi Fayaz Ahmad Rather and said, “it is highly deplorable to detain a religious cleric under draconian law.” “Leading funeral prayers of a martyr is a religious duty and it is not an offence.”

He expressed his dismay over the pathetic condition of prisoners in different jails of state and outside state and said that the nation will never forget their services.
