Slamming state administration for slapping Public Safety Act on Kulgam Auqaf president, Fayaz Ahmad Rather, for leading funeral prayers of LeT commander Abu Qasim recently, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front chief Friday termed it as “clear sign of mental bankruptcy of so-called rulers”.
“This is the height of tyranny and oppressive behaviour. Instead of putting Kashmiris behind bar and unleashing terror against common Kashmiris, rulers should try to stop fascist attacks on Kashmiris in Rajouri and other parts of Jammu,” he said in a JKLF statement this evening.
Malik said, “rulers have shown their narrow mindedness by acts like these. It were police and local administration that handed over the dead body of a martyr to the local Auqaf committee for funeral and burial. People arranged the funeral prayers of departed soul as per moral, Islamic and humanitarian principles but now PSA has been slapped on Fayaz Ahmad Rather of Bogam Kulgam who is among the heads of the Auqaf committee.”
“The rulers who propagate Goli Nahin Boli and ‘battle of ideas’ like slogans on daily basis have lost every shame now; who are they pleasing by putting common people behind bars,” asked Malik.
Condemning the implementation of PSA order on various others including Hurriyat leader Masarat Alam Bhat, Showkat Ahmad Bhat Kulgam, Assadullah Parray, Muhammad Amin Parray, Mudasir Maqbool, Mudasir Ahmad Sheikh, Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Zubair Ahmad Tarray, Zahoor Ahmad Kana, Bilal Ahmad and Mushtaq Ahmad, JKLF chief said, “putting ban on freedom of people can only be termed as dictatorial and undemocratic.”
Condemning the attack on Kashmiris in Rajouri, burning down their vehicle and beating them to pulp, Malik said, “the rulers, who have unleashed reign of terror against Kashmiri masses, should save some energy to stop fascist’s attacks like these. As a matter of fact, today in Jammu and Kashmir, fascists are running a parallel government and they are doing whatever they want with impunity as rulers have given them a total free hand.”
“Puppet rulers who slap PSA on people who are involved in funeral prayers, prayers, Auqaf members and other common people are keeping complete silence on Rajouri like attacks which shows that they are actually backing these attacks,” he said.
