According to PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, speaking to reporters and quoted by Geo News, Imran Khan has been in detention for nearly 1,000 days. He said the party believes all legal avenues have been exhausted, leaving political protest as its only remaining option.

Raja further alleged, as reported by Dawn, that both Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi are being denied adequate access to lawyers and family members despite court orders. He claimed their health conditions are deteriorating in custody.

The PTI leader also said multiple petitions concerning prison conditions and visitation rights have not been taken up, describing the situation as “unprecedented” and a violation of constitutional protections for prisoners, according to The Express Tribune.

Reiterating the party’s stance, Raja said cases against Imran Khan, including the Toshakhana conviction, are politically motivated and based on unreliable testimony. These assertions have not been independently verified and are disputed by the authorities.

Earlier medical details cited by official sources and reported by Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) stated that Imran Khan had received treatment for eye-related issues while in custody, including specialist care at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), where doctors had previously noted partial improvement in his condition.

Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi are currently serving sentences at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi following convictions in corruption-related cases. They also face additional proceedings linked to the May 9 unrest.
