While the business establishments and shops are shut, public transport has resumed plying at many places across Kashmir.

Auto-rickshaws, mini-buses and cabs are plying on many routes in considerable numbers in Srinagar leading to traffic snarls at many places. Traffic cops have been deployed at many intersections to regulate traffic.

Reports said that the inter-district transport has also improved significantly.

“In peripheries and civil lines areas some fuel stations and shops have also opened at some places.”

Vendors have erected makeshift shops at scattered places in and around Lalchowk in Srinagar.

While the board examinations are going on, the attendance in colleges and schools remained affected.

Kashmir has witnessed a mass uprising since July 8 after the killing of popular Hizb commander Burhan Wani who was killed in an encounter with forces.

More than 95 people have been killed and several thousand others injured in the on-going uprising in the Valley.
