An army man injured in a gunfight with the militants in Kharpora Sirnoo village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday has succumbed to injuries.

An official said that a soldier wounded in the gunfight earlier today has succumbed.

Six civilians were killed after the forces opened fire on protesters near the site of the gunfight.

The slain civilians have been identified as Liyaqat Dar of Parigam, Suhail Ahmad of Ballow, Shahbaaz of Monghama, Amir Ahmad Paul a resident of Ashmander, Tauseef Ahmad Mir of Chersoo, Murtaza Ahmad Bhat of Prichoo and Abid Hussain Lone Pulwama.

Pertinently, three militants were killed and two army men injured in the encounter.
