A youth who was injured critically after near the gunfight site during intense clashes between government forces and protesters in Kharpora village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district has succumbed to injuries.
Sources said that Aamir Ahmad, a resident of Ashmandar village of the district, sustained a critical bullet wound during the clashes near Kharpora Sirnoo.
He was shifted to nearby hospital where from he was referred to SMHS Srinagar hospital in critical conditions. He succumbed his injuries on way to Srinagar hospital.
Earlier, three militants were killed and two army men wounded in the gunfight while several civilian protesters were injured in the clashes that erupted near the site of the gunfight in Kharpora Sirnoo.
On today early morning, a joint team of army’s 55RR, SOG and 182/183 BN CRPF launched a cordon-and-search operation at in Kharpora Sirnoo, which resulted into the encounter.
Soon after the encounter, massive clashes were witnessed in parts of Pulwama district.
