Police on Friday said that in a gruesome act of terror, militants shot dead a 25-year-old girl from a point-blank range.
A police spokesperson in a statement said that the dead body was retrieved by police from Dragad area of Zainapora in Shopian district. She has been identified as Ishrat Muneer daughter of Muneer Ahmad Dar resident of Dangerpora, Pulwama.
“Militants while perpetrating this gruesome act, made a video recording of the incident and circulated it on social media,” he said.
“In this connection, Police has registered a case under relevant sections of law and initiated the investigation. Pertinently Police investigation is focused on some credible leads and it is expected soon the culprits shall be brought before the law,” said police spokesman in a statement.
