Senior National Conference (NC) leader and former MLA Eidgah, Mubarak Gul on Tuesday led a protest in Press Enclave here in Srinagar against civilian killings in Kashmir and other civic issues in his constituency.

The protest demonstration was joined by the members of his constituency who were holding placards that read “Stop killing of innocent people”, “ban use of pellet guns” and “innocent killings act of brutality.

“The recent civilian killings in Pulwama and other such killings is the height of brutality and it is not acceptable at all,” Mubarak Gul said.

He demanded proper maintenance of dumping sites in his constituency of Eidgah.  “A vast area in Eidgah area is used for dumping purposes it possesses serious health risks to the residents of the area. The government should establish a proper dumping site in the area to curb the issue,” he added.

He further added that there are no colleges in the Eidgah constituency and other adjoining areas of Shehr-e-khaas including Lalbazar, Safakadal, and Zadibal, and the government should build new colleges in the area for which the land is already identified.
