Srinagar

A complete shutdown is being observed in southern part of Kashmir’s Pulwama town Friday against vandalizing of shops allegedly by forces.

The Pulwama trader’s body has called for today’s shutdown alleging government forces thrashed shopkeepers and damaged their property during clashes on Thursday.

However police have strongly refuted the allegations saying that on and off stone pelting in the town has severely disturbed the routine of local business people.

All shops and business establishments are closed in the town while as traffic is off the roads, local sources said.

They said that many people were thrashed and several shops vandalized during clashes between protesters and forces on Thursday.
