A complete shutdown is being observed in south Kashmir’s  Pulwama town and its adjoining areas to mourn the killing of local militant Mussavir Ahmed Wani, a resident of Delipora Pulwama.

Wani was killed on Friday evening during an encounter between the government forces and militants in Kangan area of Pulwama. Wani’s funeral procession held at Industrial Estate, Delipora in Pulwama and was attended by thousands of mourners.

All shops and other business establishments are closed while traffic is off the roads.

The contingents of forces have been deployed at sensitive locations in the town to thwart any “element of violence”.
