Pulwama’s Tahab residents protest against vandalism, thrashing

Srinagar

The residents of Tahab village of Pulwama district on Tuesday staged protest demonstrations against alleged thrashing of locals and vandalism of their properties by the government forces on Monday night.

The protesters assembled at Tahab-Pulwama and hampered the traffic movement. The protestors said that government forces barged into their houses and thrashed the inmates last night after few gunshots were heard near a CRPF camp.

Reports on Monday night said that a CRPF sentry fired few rounds in the air after noticing suspicious movement around 8:15 pm.

When contacted, S P Pulwama, he confirmed the incident and said that they will investigate why people were thrashed. “District administration has been rushed to the area and they are investigating the issue,” he said.
