SRINAGAR: Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived in India early Friday ahead of the BRICS Summit 2026, with talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and a series of bilateral meetings scheduled during his visit.
Putin’s official aircraft landed at Delhi airport in the early hours, marking his first overseas participation in a BRICS summit since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
During his stay, Putin is expected to hold discussions with Modi on the full range of India-Russia relations, with trade, energy and defence cooperation likely to be among the key issues on the agenda.
The Russian President is also scheduled to participate in the BRICS summit and hold bilateral engagements as part of his visit to India.
