Senior separatist leader and Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) Chairman Shabir Ahmad Shah while appealing the people of South Kashmir’s Islamabad district to observe complete shutdown on June 19 (Friday) that marks the 22nd anniversary of “Shaheed-e Ummat” Qazi Nisar has paid glowing tributes to the late leader.

“Being a great religious scholar and a firebrand speaker Qazi Sahab dedicated his whole life to the service of Islam and political freedom of his nation and continued with same spirit till he achieved martyrdom,” Shah said and appealed people to observe shutdown as tribute to “Shaheed-e-Ummat”.

Meanwhile, Shabir Shah while welcoming the statements of Pakistan External Affairs minister Sartaj Aziz and Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said, “the Islamic Republic’s stand vis-à-vis Kashmir is based on truth and there can’t be any positive development in Indo-Pak talks without keeping Kashmir issue as central to dialogue and the dispute resolved as per wishes and aspirations of Kashmiri people.”

“Kashmir issue can anytime ignite a nuclear war between two neighbouring nations of the subcontinent,” he said.

Expressing concern over the attempts of “changing the State’s demography”, Shah said, “we will not let such conspiracies to change the Muslim majority status of State succeed.”

“BJP and its local collaborators are on wicked agenda of changing State’s demography which in aimed at creating impediments in the resolution of Kashmir dispute,” he alleged.

Appealing the separatist leadership to jointly resist such “nefarious plans of communal elements”, Shah said it is a very “sensitive issue concerning our future”.
