Arrested on June 7, 2013 ahead of his father’s anniversary, Qazi Yasir, Chairman Ummat-e-Islami and Mirwaiz South Kashmir Friday suffered a “mild stroke” in police station Saddar in district Islamabad.

According to Party spokesman, “Mirwaiz South was under police detention where he complained of chest pain and suffered mild stroke and was immediately rushed to Srinagar.

“Qazi Sahab Suffered mild stroke in police custody where he is languishing from last many days, he has been rushed to srinagar,” said party spokesman while talking to Kashmir Life over phone.

Meanwhile 25 Ullemas of Ummat-e-Islami Friday presented court arrest against the “illegal” detention of their chairman.

Pertinently, Qazi Yasir is son of prominent Kashmiri religious scholar and social activist, Qazi Nisar Ahmad, who was assassinated on June 19, 1993 by unidentified gunmen in South Kashmir’s Diyalgam area.
