Residents of Watergam, Rafiabad area in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district staged a massive protest on Saturday to demand the appointment of tehsildar for the area.
Reports said that residents of Watergam and adjoining areas blocked the Baramulla Handwara road shouting slogans demanding the immediate appointment of tehsildar for the Watergam tehsil office.
The tehsildar of the area was transferred four months back and since then they suffer without a tehsildar, the protesters said.
The protestors said that they are facing huge inconvenience on daily basis in absence of much-needed tehsildar at tehsil office Watergam, to meet their urgent needs.
