Railway authorities Saturday suspended train services between Banihal and Srinagar citing “law and order” situation after the death of three militants in a gunfight with forces in Pulwama district of south Kashmir.
An official said that the services have been suspended for a day due to “law and order situation”.
Earlier, clashes erupted in Pulwama town after the news of death of three Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militants in a gunfight spread in the area.
Witnesses said that youths pelted stones on forces who responded with teargas shelling.
Three militants – Haseeb Pala of Bandina, Ishaq Dar of Dogripora and Ishfaq Baba of Tahab – died in a gunbattle in the wee hours today at Panzgam village.
