SRINAGAR: Rainfall caused waterlogging on several roads in Pahalgam on Tuesday, while the Lidder River remained in spate amid increased water flow.
The spell of rain affected parts of Jammu and Kashmir as the Meteorological Centre Srinagar forecast a decline in rainfall activity from Wednesday.
The weather office said the Union Territory is likely to experience generally dry weather from September 2 to 10, although isolated to scattered rain or thundershowers may occur during the period.
The Meteorological Centre has also cautioned that intense showers at vulnerable locations could trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides.
The swollen Lidder and waterlogged roads in Pahalgam prompted monitoring of water levels and local conditions as rainfall continued in parts of the region.
The forecast indicates a reduction in rainfall activity across Jammu and Kashmir from Wednesday, with generally dry conditions expected over the coming days.
