SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Saturday afternoon issued a fresh weather forecast, predicting rain and thundershowers at several locations across Jammu and Kashmir during the next 4 to 6 hours.
According to the forecast, parts of North Kashmir, many areas in Central and South Kashmir, as well as Poonch, Rajouri, Banihal, Ramban, Reasi, Udhampur, Jammu, Doda, and Kishtwar are expected to receive rainfall during this period.
The MET Centre further said that many areas in South Kashmir, parts of North and Central Kashmir, Rajouri, the Banihal-Ramban axis, Jammu, Reasi, Udhampur, and some parts of Samba and Kathua may witness intense rain showers accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 km/h.
The advisory also cautioned about the possibility of landslides and mudslides in vulnerable locations.
Authorities have advised suspension of Shikara rides and boating activities during periods of intense showers and gusty winds.
