Rain, Thundershowers to Continue Across Jammu Kashmir: MeT

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience intermittent rain and thundershowers over the coming days, with the Meteorological Centre, Srinagar, warning of heavy rainfall and brief intense showers in some districts between August 9 and 11.

According to the latest weather forecast, light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected at many places from August 6 to 8, with brief intense showers possible at a few locations.

The weather is expected to become more widespread between August 9 and 11, when light to moderate rain and thundershowers are likely at most places. Heavy rainfall or brief intense heavy showers may occur in a few districts during this period.

The MeT Centre has specifically advised caution during August 9-11, warning that torrential rain and brief intense heavy showers could trigger flash floods and landslides in vulnerable areas.

From August 12 to 15, light rain or thundershowers are likely at many places, with brief intense showers possible at a few locations.

The weather department has advised people in vulnerable areas to remain alert, particularly during periods of intense rainfall, in view of the possibility of flash floods and landslides.
